- We received feedback from customers that they want to monitor the opening and closing status of building doors in real-time and at a low cost. In fact, when installing devices to detect opening and closing, significant costs are incurred for wiring and power work to notify the central system of the opening and closing status. - Therefore, we utilized Sigfox as a means to notify the central system from the door opening and closing detection device, and by using rechargeable batteries, we significantly reduced construction costs. - We developed an application that detects changes in the door opening and closing status by leveraging the global IoT network Sigfox, receiving signals from the detection device, and sending them to the cloud, allowing the status to be visualized in a web browser. - There are two main features: 1. You can view a list of changes in the door status (closed to open, open to closed) and any abnormalities in the detection device (such as low battery voltage or no communication for a certain period). 2. The application displays an alert on the screen for doors that are left open as an abnormality and also triggers an alert sound. Building managers no longer need to check each door individually; they can focus on checking the status of detection devices that are abnormal or doors that are left open.
